TIRES
265/75/16 Cooper Discoverer S/T

July 25, 2010
Well I finally needed to get tires and decided on the Cooper Discoverer S/T. I hear nothing but good things about the tires and the company. Previously I had some 255/?/16 Cooper Discoverer street tires that did well enough for the the type of off roading I did here in St. Croix. Now I have some true All-Terrains that will hopefully give the extra grip to get IN and OUT of sticky situations. After all "Four wheel drive allows you to get stuck in places even more inaccessible." --- (Gotta find out who said that)
I have stock suspension 70k miles old and I haven't gone off-road yet with the new tires.

I had to do the Spare Tire Carrier Flip as nicely described here at www.discovery2.co.uk  However having gone with DI REAR wiper arm I did not have to cut the carrier. I have about an inch clearance before the DI wiper arm comes close to the carrier.

I gained two inches of clearance for the differentials.
I will keep a log of mileage and tread wear. They have a faint hum at 50mph and being that they are my first off road wheels I can't really compare them to anything else. It's a smooth ride on road though. Money well spent..... for now.....
